Sarah Smith CBTMy names is Sarah Smith and I have over nine years’ experience of working therapeutically with children and young people with a variety of complex emotional and behavioural needs. Over the last three years I have specialised in using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help young people suffering from trauma, depression, anger, anxiety difficulties, low self-esteem, self-harming behaviour and much more.

I have experience of working with young people in the community as well as those in specialist schooling and residential placements.  Through this experience I have learned the importance of working holistically with children and young people and whenever possible, involving other significant people in their lives in their treatment and recovery. In an attempt to promote this I will see the majority of my clients in an environment they are familiar with – either at the family home or at school – whichever is deemed most appropriate. The aim is to integrate their therapy into their everyday lives so that it can be reinforced and enhanced regularly
